The Fall of The Soviet Union
The Soviet Union
The Soviet Union believed in dictatorship. They did not elect their rulers and people did not enjoy this. In West Germany, the people had many rights and a better way of life. Unlike East Germany, where the people had few rights. After the decline of the Soviet Union, there were many positive and negative effects on the people and their allies.
The Fall of The Soviet
The Soviet Union fell because they began to run out of money for the government. They were losing money from their oil prices because they had stopped protecting the prices of oil. They also had to cut $20,000,000 in food imports to have enough money. They even had to cut their military-industrial complexes funds. They also lost money because Saudi Arabia had increased oil production so more people were buying from them.
Effects of the Fall
Some positive effects on the fall of the Soviet Union is that it had sparked peaceful revolutions. Also, non-communists bargained with the communists for free elections. Some negative effects were that Poland had their first revolution. The fall also caused European alliances to decline.
